General Aviation Terminal (GAT)

Hamburg Airport’s General Aviation Terminal (GAT) has its own approach road; car parks and a dedicated, 450 m² terminal. A flight preparation room is open from 6.00 to 22.00 hours all year round.

The GAT, opened in 1990, has hangars with a total of floor area of 5,800 m², providing space for some 20 jet aircraft in addition to single or twin-engine propeller aircraft and helicopters. On average there are 50 take-offs and landings a day at the GAT, making a significant contribution to the airport’s traffic. The terminal also plays an important role, providing services to supplement scheduled flights with large aircraft.

Around 50 large German companies operate their own executive jet aircraft from Hamburg Airport – be it to sign an urgent commercial contract in Nice; for the vital transport of donor organs or a spontaneous weekend away on the island of Sylt.
